Clos des Papes is one of the best wines of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, of which it offers an elegant interpretation. Very consistent from one vintage to another, Clos des Papes is made from a blend predominantly of Grenache (around 65%). It is made from old vines (50 years and over) with low yields; 15 months aging in large tuns (no new wood) precedes bottling. Clos des Papes is one of the great wines to buy every year.
