This is a medium weight wine with integrated-but-assertive tannin, a sheeted impression to the (long) finish, character aplenty and the fruit to match. Lush, ripe red cherry, raspberry, sweet spice, light milk chocolate notes, a touch of aniseed, faint game meat and some truffle notes. It's easy on the palate in its slick of texture and trill of fine, stony tannin to finish. A little minty, alpine herb in there, too. Dark berries, cocoa, quince paste, a dried floral arrangement in a coal scuttle. A lithe and linear frame, depth without density, a wine with a beautifully even flow and glide.
